Commission rules
We appreciate the time it takes to make your recommendations. That’s why we offer competitive up-front and renewal commission for both buildings and contents insurance and renewal commission for mortgage payment protection insurance. This includes:
- An up-front payment based on a percentage of the annualised premium (excluding Insurance Premium Tax)
- A monthly payment following the successful renewal of the policy on its anniversary, again based on a percentage of the annualised renewal premium (excluding Insurance Premium Tax)

*Only Bedroom Plus policies written on Santander Additions online system get the increased renewal commission. Policies written on the Santander Additions desktop system will receive 15% renewal commission.
Santander Additions monthly commission payments and statements are issued and fully administered on behalf of Santander by Plus One Insurance Solutions Ltd.
Clawback for all Santander Additions products
First year indemnity commission will be clawed back on a pro rata basis. eg If a policy is cancelled in month 4 then 8 months commission will be clawed back.
If the policy lapses or cancels after renewal, commission will be paid up to the point the policy lapsed or cancelled. Any payments made after the policy cancels will be recovered.
